Khadarlis just got a Huge Donation from an Anonymous Source!

An Unexpected Phone Call

Earlier this morning our Executive Director got a call from Crossroads Rhode Island saying that someone was looking for her.

Of course, we had no idea what could be awaiting her as she drove to Crossroads just a few minutes away.

So who did she find?

When she arrived, she went inside to see a family waiting for her She had never met them, but she thought she would be helping another client.  Then something caught here eye. There was truck waiting for her too.

It turns out they didn't need Khadarlis' services. They were going to help her!

A Generous Donation

It turns out a generous donor, who wanted to remain anonymous, left Khadarlis hundreds of donated clothing. Bundles of hats, scarves, and winter clothing were loaded into the truck.

She was stunned. Where had these donations come from? Who was this donor?

This donor had owned a store and had recently passed away. Amazingly, In her will, she left Khadarlis its contents.

We're honored to have received such a contribution from this donor and their family. Of course, we knew what we could do with all of these items:

Donate them right back into the community.

A Special Holiday

This summer, we're going to run a special Christmas in July event. We'll be giving away tons of winter items while the weather is nice. This is much like the work we did recently with Bannister  House residents!

We're excited to start giving this clothing away.

Of course, we may not be able to thank this donor by name, but we'll always cherish the gift they left behind.

And I'm sure our community will too!
